Ms. Barragán has 15 years of experience in the mining industry. Ms. Barragán joined New Gold in 2010 as Legal Manager and currently leads New Gold’s Cerro San Pedro operation as Country Manager and Director General, Minera San Xavier.
Prior to New Gold, Ms. Barragán held several roles in the legal affairs departments of Southern Copper Corporation, Grupo Mexico, S.A.B., and the Federal Procurator General’s Office of the Treasury Department.
Ms. Barragán is the Chairperson from Mexico City’s chapter of Women in Mining, Mexico. Mrs. Barragán earned her law degree from Escuela Libre de Derecho, Mexico. She also holds a Master’s degree in Human Rights and Democracy and a Specialization in Environmental Energy Policy and Management from Facultad Latinoamericana y Ciencias Sociales, Mexico.
