Electrical Technician


This position is accountable for surface and underground fixed plant hoisting and crushing systems, surface ventilation fans and various other electrical infrastructure.


Key areas of responsibility for this position (include but are not limited to the following):

  • PLC Programming and fault finding
  • Maintain electrical functionality and compliance of the surface mounted primary ventilation fans, site hoisting and crushing systems and 11kV main switch room
  • Work with multiple teams on site to achieve production, maintenance and cost targets
  • High level involvement with site project development and implementation. From hands on installations to leading contractor groups as required to achieve site acceptable functionality and compliance
  • Provide guidance and training for end users of new installations
  • Site technical electrical support as required and co-ordinated with Electrical Supervisor
  • Lead a small team of Electrical Tradespersons
  • Provide relief coverage for Electrical Supervisor as required



It is envisaged that the successful candidate will possess the following qualifications, experience and skills:

  • Commitment to health, safety and environment
  • NSW Electrical Supervisors Certificate
  • HV Switching
  • PLC fault finding and programming experience
  • Ability to interpret and enact the requirements of all relevant standards and regulations relating to electrical safety
  • Experience in hoisting and crushing systems electrical infrastructure
  • Experience in main ventilation electrical infrastructure
  • Experience supervising and leading a small team
  • Experience in mine citect systems and co-ordination across site
  • Excellent communication skills


This position is on a 9 day fortnight roster, and a competitive salary and benefits package will be provided for the successful candidate.
