Loader Operator


The key objective of this position is to, ensure all aspects of production / development bogging are carried out safely and efficiently, with a sense of urgency to achieve Business Unit targets




  • Work towards providing quality results applying PGM standards
  • Maintain high daily check standards; coolants, oils, fuel, grease and fault diagnostics
  • Operate the loaders efficiently; safely, maximise utilisation, assist in eliminating down time
  • Correctly interpret bogging plans, shift plans to minimise rework and wastage. Identify savings and be capable of interpreting ground conditions
  • Operate the loader to a high standard and job completion in development headings and be competent in line of sight / tele remote operations
  • Any additional tasks as requested by your Supervisor



It is envisaged that the successful candidate will possess the following qualifications, experience and skills:

  • Ability to achieve development targets ie tonnes bogged and costs
  • Competent in performance of pre start checks, assist in fault finding and preventative maintenance
  • Be competent in performance of line of sight and tele remote operations, development bogging, backfilling of stopes and passes.
  • Competent in performing hazard identification ie Stop Take 5
  • Competent in interactions with others, giving and receiving of information
  • Be competent in the handling and use of explosives


  • Minimum of two years underground experience on underground loaders
  • Strong outlook on safety
  • Able to provide leadership and training to new team members as required

  • Heavy Equipment licence preferred

  • Current NSW ‘C’ class Drivers Licence
  • Safework NSW Security Clearance (UHL)
