Afton Drilling Adds to Mineral Zone

06/06/2002

Diamond Drilling on the Afton Copper-Gold Project has intersected significant copper-gold mineralization west of the mineral zone envelope boundary used in the 2000-2001 indicated mineral resource estimate of 37.7 million tons (34.3 million tonnes) of 2.32% Copper Equivalent. (Reference: April 25, 2002 Press Release -- Afton Mineral Resource Study.)

DDH 2K02-52 @ -45º/244, drilled above DDH 2K-14, intersected 2.55% Copper Equivalent over a drill core length of 62 metres (203 ft) within an overall mineralized core length interval of 100 metres (328 ft). The present interpretation is a possible widening of the high grade copper-gold mineralization beyond the previously indicated mineral zone boundary.
